An engineer is crossing the road

—8—  Sorry, Frog

An engineer is crossing the road when he hears a frog calling out to him, “Hey, mister. If you kiss me, I’ll turn into a beautiful princess.” The engineer bends down, picks up the frog, and puts it in his pocket. The frog speaks up again. “Hey, didn’t you hear me? I tell you what—if you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I’ll be your girlfriend for a week.” The engineer takes the frog out of his pocket, smiles at it, and puts it back in his pocket. So the frog cries out, “Okay, okay. If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I’ll do anything you say.” Again the engineer takes the frog out, smiles at it, and puts it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asks, “What’s the matter with you? I’ve told you I’m a beautiful princess. I’ll be your girlfriend. I’ll do whatever you say. What more do you want?”

The engineer smiles and says, “Look, I’m an engineer. I don’t have time for a girlfriend. But a talking frog—now, that’s cool.”
