The Schrödinger's cat of epidemics - both too much and too little

This blog post captures much of what I am seeing which is interesting and promising in terms of potential prophylactics and treatments. From COVID-19: interesting data from Korea and from the Diamond Princess by Nitay Arbel.

If any/all of this pans out, we will have over-reacted. Crucially though, we will not have over-reacted irresponsibly. When you are in the zone of unknown unknowns, every precautionary action is both insufficient and an overreaction. It is the Schrödinger's cat of epidemics, simultaneously too much and too little given the unknown reality.
