One of my favourite Latin texts is a graffito from the Villa of Mysteries, situated in Pompeii. Hand written on the wall is a simple RUFUS EST - This is Rufus - with a charming caricature of a laurel wreathed Roman. Take a look at the ‘tails’ on the R and Ss. pic.twitter.com/n8EpDJILx9
