Bad news and worse news.

The doctor called his patient and said "I’ve got bad news and I’ve got worse news." The patient says "Give me the bad news first." So the doctor said "I’m sorry, but you have terminal cancer and only have 24 hours to live". The patient said "What the heck could be worse than that?" The doctor said "Unfortunately I wasn’t able to reach you yesterday."
