The polarization between self-description and articulation

The dissonance between the self-description/self-perception and the actual sentiments articulated is something else.

How he sees himself:

He is an academic communist who understands trauma and is against violence.  

What everyone else sees:

He is for class warfare and celebrates the death of his enemies.
