The world is going through an especially noisy patch at the moment. Iraq, with Kurds, Sunni and Shia, and various factions within each was complex but it hardly holds a candle to the situation in Syria where Iran, Russia, USA, Syrian government, Turkey, ISIS factions, Kurds, Hezbollah, Israel, Syrian freedom groups, and a salt and peppering of terrorist groups, are all vying for power, position and advantage.
