My lack of knowledge about music and, in particular, popular music, is reasonably comprehensive. My wife, who is the reverse, derives endless entertainment from just how much I do not know in this domain.
But even I astonish myself sometimes in terms of my ignorance. I just discovered that 1) Gordon Lightfoot is still alive, 2) that he is Canadian, and 3) that he wrote Sun Down, a song I do recognize but didn't know was by him.
Oh well.
