Another way to put this is that despite 95% of adults having been vaccinated against Covid-19, 65% got it anyway.  Possibly there was some benefit by time delaying its progress.  Even less likely is the possible, but disputed, benefit of reducing the severity of cases.  Otherwise, what was gained?
