Across the West, as we come off the seasonal peaks of Covid-19 and as Omicron wanes, totalitarians everywhere are lifting all the ineffective masking and lockdown requirements.  But the seasons will turn and variants will emerge.  Even though we now have the data to demonstrate that masking and lockdowns have little or no effect on transmission, is there not a probability that with new variants and the turning of the seasons, authoritarians will return to their worn playbook?

There’s gonna soon be a movement of people who try to use the coming Philippines Variant (“BA2”) wave to say all the mask mandates need to come back, isn’t there
