The first thing we asked it was to lie

I like this line from Google's AI Is an Anti-White Lunatic by Mike Solana.  The subheading is google’s AI chatbot just erased white people from human history. a grim (if objectively hilarious) warning for the future.  A piece about the Gemini fiasco.  

We created AI capable of answering, in seconds, any question within the bounds of all recorded human knowledge, and the first thing we asked it was to lie. That’s the human condition, and there isn’t any solving for it. So we need to work around it.

That is always the case.  We focus on the purported dangers of a new technology (stone, fire, iron, steam engine, internal combustion engine, nuclear power, etc.).  The danger is not with the new technology.  The danger is always due to the old human behaviors.  The Gods of the Copybook Headings indeed.
