Because someone loses an election, it is not ipso facto a failed election process

A useful takedown of one of the circulating pieces of cognitive pollution, that the election in 2018 was in any way flawed or discriminatory. Like most states, Georgia is wrestling with a couple of significant issues. We replaced most paper ballots a decade or two ago and the new machines are now aged. We need to consider what comes next given increasing concerns about ballot machine hacking. It is a real issue with plenty of trade-offs and no obvious solutions.

We are also, as most states, wrestling with ensuring that county voter roles are current and up to date, including everyone who should be able to vote and excluding all those who have moved away, died, been convicted of felonies, etc. Far easier said than done.

We also have the same issue as others, regarding recounts. The statistics say that there are post voting issues which are not well addressed.

Finally, we are also dealing with the same issue which others have been experiencing - how do we make it easier to vote (digital voting, absentee, DMV auto-registration, etc.) while also maintaining the integrity and privacy of the voting process.

No much discussed, but I am certain will be soon, is the newly emerged issue of ballot harvesting and how to guard the election integrity against that.

But none of that is new (other than ballot harvesting) is new and none of it unique to Georgia. The source of the current argument is Stacey Abrams, loser of the 2018 election. As in the 2016 election, the loser is manufacturing accusations to cover her own loss.

The left’s ‘Jim Crow’ fantasy of a stolen Georgia election by Rich Lowry. I have seen all Abram's accusations addressed by others in a piecemeal fashion, many refuted by her own political allies. Lowry brings it all together in one place.

If the purported Russian objective was to undermine confidence in our system of government, the losers of elections are doing most the yeoman's work to make that happen.
