Prometheus was the Titan who stole fire from the Greek Gods of Olympus and gave it to mankind as the foundation of civilization. Before Prometheus, man was a pitiable savage. After the gift of fire, he started on the long journey of civilization.
We have numerous groups today who seem bound and intent on a reverse journey into barbarism. A journey of wild and unreasoning anger and emotionalism where all the advantages of Age of Enlightenment and the Scientific Revolution are forfeit for the indulgence in savage fury.
Two examples this week lead me to propose that there is a Reverse Prometheus Inflection Point, RPIP, where the abandonment of the civilized condition is made obvious by the incapacity to handle Prometheus's gift to man, the inability to handle fire any longer.

The Reverse Prometheus Inflection Point is where there is no point in further dialogue. Simply punish them for their barbaric crimes.
