The ideas of poets are much worse than common sense of regular men

Sextus Empiricus knew of what he spoke:

ἂν δὲ καὶ ἐξετάσῃ τις, πολλῷ χείρονα τῆς τῶν ἰδιωτῶν ὑπολήψεως εὑρήσει τὰ τῶν ποιητῶν.

But anyone who investigates it will find that the ideas of poets are much worse than common sense of regular men.
He speaks to the current age where the ideas of the the gilded charlatans are much worse than common sense of regular men.
