Revered leader, austere scholar, and mourners - random chance or a fifth column?

It seems almost petty and paranoid to make much ado about word choices. To the point of absurd. But when the choices are so outside the norm and when there seems to be such a pattern to them . . . ? It is almost as if our residual mainstream media are firmly in the camp of the enemies of the nation.
