Oberlin is getting its just desserts?

Well, good. From Jury awards Gibson’s Bakery $11 million against Oberlin College by William A. Jacobson.

Thumbnail summary - Oberlin is adjacent to a small college town. In November 2016, three of its students were arrested for shoplifting at Gibson's Bakery, a multi-generational local establishment going back many decades. After attempting to steal wine and other goods, the students assaulted the owner of the store when he called the police. Because the three shoplifters (all of whom pled guilty) were African-American, various student social justice groups, with support, direct and indirect, from the university, sought, through protests, vigils, and boycotts, to put Gibson's out of business.

Jacobson has been following the case in detail and has the whole sorry story of how arrogance and ignorance, magically combined with disdain for ordinary Americans, made this a case study for why people so object to the Mandarin Class.
