Criminal class and MPD productivity, not so much.

Wisconsin has had a few good years of economic development under reformer Governor Scott Walker.

That is a wonderful accomplishment. But it doesn't tell quite the whole story. There are still pockets of profound ineffectiveness.

Among the criminal class of Milwaukee, for example, productivity is astonishing low. Low productivity only matched by that of the Milwaukee Police Department.

From “Waiting and waiting:” Gas station owner watches in real time as thief ransacks his business by Suzanne Spencer.

The private security system alerted the owner immediately to the break-in. He called the MPD. He sat and watched the thief for an hour.

The thief had an uninterrupted hour to steal something and despite his best efforts, fled with nothing to show for his effort. The MPD had an hour to stop a robbery in progress and was unable to even show up.

Private sector productivity in Wisconsin, booming. Criminal class and MPD productivity, not so much.
