A movement opposes science when it doesn't want assertions tested, challenges arithmetic when its claims don't add up, ridicules 'merit' when it wants to triumph by other means, seeks to censor when it fears discussion.

And that is our danger today. The Mandarin Class (Establishment Democrats, Establishment Republicans, Mainstream media, Academia, Governmental Agencies nomenklatura, much of Boardroom Corporatism) all want obedience and compliance and do not want to argue their position to an informed citizenry.
The corporate and governmental censorship of discordant facts and opinions, the deplatforming of those holding alternate opinions, the depredation of empiricism, reason and the scientific method, the promotion of arguments unsupported by evidence are all alarming warning signals of an underlying weakening of the spirit of tolerance, openness, egalitarianism, and discovery which have powered the Age of Enlightenment for some 350 years. The years when humankind broke the chains of the Malthusian paradox and delivered an age of increasing plenty.
