Help thou mine unbelief

From Mark 9:24, King James Version

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. 25 When Jesus saw that the people came running together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto him,Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee, come out of him, and enter no more into him.

An interesting turn of phrase from an epistemic perspective.  I interpret it as

I have chosen a frame of belief and do believe, but there is much I do not understand.  Help me with what I do not understand in order to strengthen my belief.

There are border issues between facts, understanding and belief which are a perpetual struggle.  Where does each end and merge with the other?
