I support the right to protest. From a persuasion standpoint, it didn't seem great that I went to the pro-Palestine protest (as a journalist/curious citizen not as a participant) streaming right by my apartment and within 10 minutes saw people tearing down hostage posters.

The mainstream media seemingly deliberately have obfuscated the distinction between protesting (peacefully) and rioting (violently).
