I have just noticed that Scott Alexander's motto for his Astral Codex Ten substack is:
P(A|B) = [P(A)*P(B|A)]/P(B), all the rest is commentary.
In other words, Conditional Probability. What is the probability of A happening if B has already happened? A very useful but also tricky field.
