Once the Romans arrived at the base of Masada, they constructed a circumvallation wall out of stone. Originally 10-12 feet high and constructed with intermittent towers, the wall had a total distance of c. 4,000 yards. The remains can still be seen today. pic.twitter.com/eHtxexcp7O
