Capturing this so I don't lose track of it. Mr. Jaynes' Wild Ride by Kevin Simler. It is an explanation of Julian Jaynes' argument in, The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind. An argument which has held my interest for several decades. Jaynes is asking excellent questions to which few have answers which leaves his own proposition still in contention.
Simler has four essays on Jaynes' thinking and it supposedly is a very good summary; so good that it almost obviates the dense book.
