Watching all the old retread appointments to the presumed new administration, I can't help think of a revised version of that old Mencken quote.

Also thinking, couldn't they have used past convictions and scandals as more of a screening mechanism?

Also - Wow, the venal corruption of the DC Swamp is being pumped back in.  They are not even hiding it.
