Ishtar Gate, built by Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II in Mesopotamia, 575 BC, was built using blue lapis lazuli and bricks containing strong asphalt. It contains inscriptions represents goddess Marduk and goddess Ishtar, symbol of love, beauty and war.
