It is a rational argument about the latest storm among the Mandarin Class. From It’s Come to This — We Must Defend Matt Yglesias by The Editors of National Review.

But there is one resonant line I really appreciate.

These are dark times. More important, these are stupid times.

As noted by leading academic authority Forrest Gump:

Stupid is as stupid does.

And boy do we have people doing stupid things.

Denying biology.

Denying evolution.

Denying due process.

Denying words have meaning.

Resisting arrest.

Defunding police.

Disengaging police.

Words are violently dangerous.

Violence is peaceful protest.

Segregation is equality.

Embracing group guilt and heritable guilt.

One could go on. Easier to simply create the category - stupid things people do and believe.
