The British suffered their first naval defeat for a century on 1 November 1914 when Graf Maximilian von Spee's German fleet defeated a British squadron off the shores of Coronel, Chile. Cradock, the British Commander, and 1,660 men perished. Only 3 Germans were wounded. pic.twitter.com/wtobeLpkaW
