Eeyore of the MSM

A study in contrasts. Are things getting better or worse? It doesn't depend on the facts, it depends on how you present the facts.

A moment ago, I got an alert from the New York Times.
Employers added 4.8 million jobs in June, and the U.S. unemployment was 11.1 percent, a recovery threatened by the recent spike in virus cases.
OK. We're not out of the woods yet.

And then a moment later I see from CNBC:
Record jobs gain of 4.8 million in June smashes expectations; unemployment rate falls to 11.1%
The sun breaks through the clouds.

That calls for . . .

They don't call the New York Times the Grey Lady for nothing. "Eeyore of the MSM" might be the better appellation though. All good news should be asterisked with how it could all go wrong.
