The following is simply a memory dump, with no vouching whether the original reporting is correct, or whether my recollection of it is correct. No checking on wikipedia or searching to validate; this is simply the aggregation of recollections from the past several months, recognizing that I almost certainly am omitting some revelations, have others in the wrong order, have overstated some things, etc. In particular, it seems to me like there are several ancillary relationships I am not recollecting. FBI leaders married to journalists, or DNC members, or things of that ilk. Here are some of the key elements I am remembering.
As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, receives massive donations (in excess of $100 million) to the Clinton Foundation from Russian and Kremlin linked business interests.Something is rotten in the state of Denmark and it is hard to discern whether it is as pervasive as it appears. It will be interesting to look back on this in six months to see what I thought was known at this time.
FBI conducts investigation of Uranium One and associated businesses on the grounds of fraud and bribery but apparently declines to bring charges even though it seems like the charges have merit.
Bill Clinton receives a half million dollar speaking fee to a conference of Russian business interests just before Hillary Clinton, as Secretary of State, issues approval for Russian Uranium One acquisition of 20% of US uranium reserves.
Wife of acting FBI Director McCabe in Washington, D.C. runs for an elected position in Virginia in 2016. Former DNC Chairman and Clinton ally Terry McAuliffe and allies raise $700,000 for Jill McCabe.
FBI Director James Comey spends 2016 investigating Hillary Clinton's email server issue (illegal set-up, classified information, DNC leak). Drafts a memo exonerating her at the very beginning of the investigation, calling in to question the intent of the exercise.
FBI gives multiple Clinton allies plea deals in return for anodyne testimony. Interviews not recorded.
Some months prior to the election, Comey holds a press conference outlining all the laws Clinton broke regarding her email server and then declines to bring charges.
Over the course of 2016, some hundreds and thousands of emails which had been wiped from the Clinton home brew server are recovered, many of them of the highest categories of classification from other locations, including the personal computer of convicted sex offender Wiener, husband of Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
Wikileak releases a series of embarrassing email caches from John Podesta, Clinton campaign manager. Wikileaks claims cache is from a leaker. Clinton claims a Russian hack.
DNC email is hacked, revealing that the DNC had been subverting the Bernie Sanders campaign during the primary season despite claiming neutrality between the rival campaigns.
DNC refuses FBI access to the email servers for analysis and FBI declines to subpoena. DNC claims Russian hacking.
In late 2016 Donna Brazile is revealed to have leaked debate questions to Clinton campaign for a primary debate between Clinton and Sanders.
DNC chairman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is unseated just prior to the Democratic convention based on revelations of DWS having orchestrated the DNC support of Clinton over Sanders during the primary campaign.
Post election, Wasserman Schulz is involved in a complex IT scandal in the House of Representatives. She contracted her IT support to a Pakistani emigre. She fronted and vouched for the emigre to one or two dozen other Democratic House members who contracted as well. Emigre hires multiple family members, many without technical background or experience, as ghost employees to boost contract. Multiple allegations of fraud, data theft, blackmail, etc. Emigre attempts to flee to Pakistan.
Leading up to the election, Trump claims FBI is tapping Trump Towers.
Emigre stashes a personal computer in the House of Representatives where it is recovered by Capitol Police. Capitol Police are threatened in a hearing by Wasserman Schulz if they do not return the computer to her unexamined.
Samantha Powers and other administration associates, spent the last few months after the election "unmasking" Trump associates. Unclear to what end or why Powers, who would normally not be in a position to do this, was tasked with this.
Hillary Clinton and the DNC fund, via a preferred law firm, the payment to Fusion GPS and their agent, Steele, to amass from Russian sources a dossier of gossip and allegations against Trump.
Sometime in the latter part of 2016, the Clinton Global Initiative, recipient of massive foreign contributions, is closed down in anticipation of a Clinton administration.
The lead lawyer at the law firm behind the dossier lied repeatedly about the dossier and its origins over the past year.
The dossier was provided by the Clinton campaign and DNC to the FBI as the basis for opening an investigation of candidate Trump. The FBI subsequently continues funding GPS Fusion's payments to Steele for further collection of information from the Russians
In effect, you have a political party manufacturing allegations, and then using those manufactured allegations to get a Federal agency under the control of that political party to investigate an American citizen who is running against that political party. About as banana-republic a set of actions as one can imagine.Post-election loss, Clinton claims Russian hacking of the election and Trump collusion with Russians.
Assorted past Russian connections, chance meetings, and scheduled meetings are trumpeted as significant until it emerges that all these meetings had their analog on the Democratic Party side.
Sometime in the first half of 2017, it is confirmed that FBI was indeed tapping Trump campaign members.
Special prosecutor is appointed, former head of FBI Mueller with close ties to Comey. Immediately hires Democratic operatives as his investigating team with budget in tens of millions.
The massive Russian interference in the campaign alleged by Hillary Clinton appears to come down to an expenditure of $100,000 (in a $2 billion campaign) for ads on Facebook, about half of which came after the election.
The only real-world involvement appears to have been a rally against Trump of a few hundred people in New York organized by the Russians after the election.
After nine months of investigation, the first indictments from the office of the special prosecutor are two Trump campaign members for financial irregularities related to their consulting services to foreign interests more than a decade ago.
The same week, Tony Podesta, brother of John Podesta, also a lobbyist and foreign advisor, abruptly and unexpectedly resigns from the chairmanship of his firm and appears to cease operations.
Donna Brazile unexpectedly announces that Obama bankrupted the DNC, that the DNC was bailed out by the Clinton campaign in return for the Clinton campaign making all DNC election decisions (including freezing out Sanders) and receiving all DNC fund-raising, thus apparently circumventing FEC campaign contribution limits. Brazile marks out the case that everything bad happening at the DNC was owing to the inattention and incompetence of Debbie Wasserman Schulz.
It is unclear whether Brazile is CYAing her own position in anticipation of future prosecutions, touting her upcoming book,
trying to disassociate herself from the past, or is an agent of the future DNC trying to cauterize the corruption of Obama/Clinton/DWS in order to clear the field for new DNC/Democratic Party leadership.
