In 1919, a tank holding approximately 13,000 tons of molasses burst in Boston. The burst released a 25 foot tall wave of molasses that ripped through a Boston neighborhood at 35 mph (56km), destroying a number of buildings, injuring 150, and killing 21 people. pic.twitter.com/QXxDVSgYpj
