Itching ears, listening for the allure of authoritarian and totalitarian promises of utopia.

2nd Timothy, Chapter 4, Verse 3-5.  Obviously it is a Christian text but it sure does speak to the politics of our time.  The Classical Liberal Age of Enlightenment world has delivered health, wealth and education to everyone, everywhere but the mutterings of tyrants, authoritarians and totalitarians whisper nonstop the sweet utopian nothings of Critical Theory, Social Justice Theory, Marxism, Postmodernism, Critical Race Theory, Intersectionality, Gender Theory, etc.  

3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

Time once again for everyone to speak up once again for the novel and revolutionary principles of the Age of Enlightenment Classical Liberalism.  We know the consequences of tyrants, authoritarians and totalitarians.  No need to keep replicating past failures.  We have outgrown them even if we are occasionally weakened by our own lusts.
