The contrast between how NPR and mainstream media are responding to the allegations and punishments of a rich, black, successful football player and how they are responding to the collapse of the FTX Ponzi scheme and their treatment of rich, white, serially-failed Sam Bankman-Fried.
SBF was a major donor to the Democratic Party and financial sponsor of several mainstream media individuals or corporations.
He also has not yet received his due process nor has he yet been found guilty of anything by a court of law. I am not advocating for the NPR digital mob.
But the contrast in their approaches between the two individuals is striking. The black football player gets the digital mob treatment trying to cancel his career without any convictions or even court cases against him. Meanwhile, NPR et al are treating white SBF with kid gloves and kowtowing with respect despite much clearer evidence of much wider and deeper malfeasance.
