Kind of the Mary Celeste of football

From NFL legend Franco Harris, known for 'Immaculate Reception,' dead at 72 by Ryan Gaydos.  The subheading is The Steelers were about to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the miraculous catch.  

I do not frequently read obituaries, especially those of a person I do not know.  I also do not follow football.  But that 'Immaculate Reception' opened up a rabbit hole into which I careened.  The story is here and here.  And it is a good one, even if you don't follow football.

Kind of the Mary Celeste of football.  It happened but there is no agreement on what happened.
