Artifacts of an earlier time.

Oh my.  Just saw this photo.  I had not thought about these for years.  I wonder when they faded out? 

Airplanes used to have the vile equivalent in seat arms.  Those now are also gone but much more recently.  I'd guess I was still on old planes with arm ashtrays as recently as the late 1990s perhaps.  Not used any longer because many flights were either no-smoking or only smoking in the far rear of the plane; but still in existence as a holdover from earlier days.
