The Bible tells us to take the rod to politicians

I have never thought of Proverbs 13:24 in terms of politicians before but once I did, it is hard not to.

He who spares his rod hates his son, But he who loves him disciplines him promptly.

He who spares the rod and does not discipline politicians hates his community and nation.  He who holds politicians immediately accountable, loves his community and nation.
