Breathless politicians

It seems as if the pandemic of Covid-19 has also yielded a pandemic of forehead-slapping bad excuses. 

First there was British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's excuse for participating maskless at several No. 10 Downing Street parties owing to his confusion that they were meetings.  

Then, on our own shores, and not to be outdone, there is this dusting off of a variant of the Bill Clinton "I didn't inhale."
