Unethical Ethics leaders

What is it about positions on Ethics committees which causes people to lose their ethics" Or, perhaps, What is it that causes unethical people to be appointed to Ethics Committees? Prompted by UGA ETHICS employee caught taking GOP signs by Andrew Lawrence. Its as if all the Ethics penumbra is just a virtue signaling sham for otherwise already flawed people.
The managing editor of ethics and environment at the University of Georgia’s Department of Philosophy, who also serves as a local commissioner, allegedly destroyed the yard signs of two state GOP candidates on Tuesday morning.

The employee, Melissa Link, addressed the incident on Facebook, inviting others to take part and bashing Republicans.

Photos surfaced online of Commissioner Link addressing an onlooker who took notice of her actions. Campaign signs for Republican gubernatorial nominee Brian Kemp and local state House hopeful Houston Gaines can be seen in her hands, utterly destroyed.
Oh, not only Ethics but part of the philosophy department as well. What a piece of work.

Brings to mind the woman at UNC who orchestrated the systematic cheating for student athletes and was rewarded with an appointment to head the Ethics Institute or the woman who headed the Ethics committee at the NY Port Authority who was caught on video interfering with NJ police officers who had pulled over her son for a driving infraction - shouting at them to the effect that they didn't know who they were messing with and she would have their jobs.

In each of these instances, some privileged establishment person trying to usurp the rights of others simply because she wants to.

Revolting.
